In short
- This website uses no advertising services. Audience measurement with Google Analytics takes place only if you expressly consent. Without consent, no cookies are set.
- Fonts, images and scripts are hosted on our own server. No data is sent to third parties when you visit.
- Videos are not embedded. Clicking a video opens it on youtube.com. Only then is a connection to YouTube made.
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Each time a page is requested, the server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the referring page. This serves the delivery and security of the website. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is secure and stable operation. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO. STRATO deletes or anonymises the logs after a short time.
Audience measurement with Google Analytics (only with your consent)
If you choose “Allow statistics” in the notice, we use Google Analytics 4, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. It shows us which videos and pages people are interested in.
Google Analytics sets cookies for this (“_ga” and “_ga_…”, stored for up to two years) and processes information such as pages viewed, time spent, clicks on videos, device, browser, screen size, the referring page and an approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off; the data is not used for advertising. It is deleted after 14 months.
A transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google.
The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). Without consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the “Privacy settings” link at the bottom of every page. We store your choice in your browser (local storage) so the notice does not appear on every visit; this is strictly necessary for the consent to work (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). More information: policies.google.com/privacy.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to see how this website appears in Google search. For this, a verification file for Google is stored on our server. No data about visitors to this website is collected in the process.
YouTube
We do not embed videos. Preview images are hosted on our own server; viewing our pages makes no connection to YouTube. Clicking a video or “Subscribe” is an ordinary link and opens the page on YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). From then on, Google’s privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy. We do not transmit any data about you.
Links to news sources
Our news items link to websites of other providers. Their privacy policies apply once you follow a link. We do not transmit any data about you.
Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your details to answer your enquiry (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the message once it has been dealt with and no retention obligation applies.
Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21). You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.
